She’s a journalist and writes young adult fiction. He’s a med student. They live in Washington DC but traveled across the county to Washington State, where they met in college, to get married (we’re so glad they did, because it means we got to attend).

We took photos at University of Washington where they met while attending. Then trekked through a very busy Saturday afternoon Pike Place Market with the bridal party. The wedding and reception took place at the Pierce County Environmental Services Building in Tacoma…. a modern, green venue with gorgeous views of Puget Sound. Naturally, most guests stayed outside as long as possible and enjoyed the lawn games and surrounding nature.

The table decor included Sarah and Joel’s favorite books and the vases were science beakers and flasks– a representation of both the bride and groom’s careers.  Guests were welcome to take the books home with them as a gift. I’ve never seen anything so charming!

We had such a good time celebrating with Sarah and Joel and all their friends.
